Review Summary: What truly awful brutal death metal actually sounds like, well sort of.
Samples are very annoying, but when your favorite genre is brutal death metal you pretty much have to learn to ignore them. That is unless, for some ungodly reason, you actually enjoy the exorbitant sounds of torture and fetish porn. At thirty minutes in length,
Erotic Diarrhea Fantasy is more or less fifty percent sampling; more than enough to reinvigorate anyone’s hate for the bloody things.
The amount of sampling displayed here is almost suffocating; murder inducing even, making Torsofuck the only brutal band to actually achieve a transference of such feelings. In essence then, the band is actually doing its job right? Well…yeah, but I’m not so sure that’s a good thing. Regardless, congratulations Torsofuck!
The music, when you actually get to it, is as generic and terrible as brutal death can get. The slams are tedious, not groovy in the least and frankly boring. I don’t exactly know how much slam there was in 2004 (I’ll bet there was plenty), but in such a stagnant sub-genre of a sub-genre, chances are it doesn’t matter much unless you’re the first, because you probably don’t bring anything new to the table. Although, Torsofuck do present some innovation here, the album’s closer,
Cannibal, is absolutely groundbreaking in structure. Not only does it begin with a two-minute sample, it also
ends with a two-minute sample, leaving an entire minute of music to enjoy. Fancy that!
The vocals sound like a dying boar, which isn’t a totally abnormal sound within the genre but it’s not exactly a desirable one either, but then again most people don’t pay much attention to vocals in this genre anyway. The samples dig up forgotten disdain not only for porn clips, but, by proximity, over-the-top vocals. Though, I’m not sure what’s worse, the sampling or the actual music. Well actually that’s a lie; the samples make me want to kill babies whereas the music just makes me want to throw a puppy against the wall.
If you’re really, really, almost unhealthily addicted to all things porn, there’s a chance you might find some enjoyment here, but everyone else should really stay away. This album is almost too easy for haters of the genre to denigrate, so by all means, fire away!
