While this wonderful group from NYC (now disbanded), is some of the highest quality ska I have heard in all my noodling around in the genre, it also is some of the most rude. Mephiskapheles were unafraid of offending, grossing out, or downright confusing anyone, and it shows on this release. While I believe only one member of the group was an actual Satanist, the rest of them carried it out as a sort of sick joke, but in doing so they made such superb ska, that I could really care less. These rude boys knew what they were doing, and it's that kind of passion and talent that I wish we could see in more ska bands today. I recommend this album to anyone that loves ska, and that can't help but get their skank on when they hear it.
