wtf happened? on her previous albums she only flirted with pop flops but this has a whole army of untalented singers pushing her violin to the wayside. nevertheless lost girls exists and arena + phoenix are 2 of her best ever pieces, such a shame theyre followed by so much crap

Lindsey Stirling's entire career trajectory has been nothing but hasty scribbles on a notepad that
overlap and occasionally blot ink on the hand so haphazardly drawing them. Never has her violin
instrumentation felt all there with whatever genre is flavoring the stock beats provided by her
entourage of faceless produces, which in turn has forced her entire gimmick of "dubstep violin" to be
nothing more THAN a completely shallow gimmick. However, on previous efforts, there was always
some tracks that offered sanctuary from the flaws that plague Stirling's songwriting (a notable
example being Shatter Me) for some genuine moments of excitement and fun; yet on Brave Enough,
any and all protection against the label of "shallow gimmick" are gone.

Brave Enough is a messy record. Brave Enough is a shallow record. And worst of all, Brave Enough is
a boring record. All signs that show a lack of Stirling's grip on any resemblance of solid songwriting
can be found in the features selection. Which finds anyone from singer/songwriter Christina Perri to
Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo awkwardly trying to find footing to provide vocals for incredibly
mediocre house and dubstep tunes. Everyone involved in this project does the bare minimum to trend
hop on current styles in the dance scene such as future bass and tropic house - and the complete
lack of care for the production makes Stirling's violin playing even more apparently out of place. This
is just a horrible and painful slog to sit through and everyone involved should be ashamed. r
