3.3 great | manosg EMERITUS | August 13th 17 | Ave is surprisingly solid but at the same time slightly confusing. On the one hand, it is probably Venom's best offering since At War with Satan but on the other, it would undoubtedly benefit from some serious editing and trimming. Album opener "Ave Satanas", "Dein Fleisch" and "Preacher Man" consist a fairly representative sample of great tracks that could have easily been 2-3 minutes less each. However, there is no denying that Venom Inc.'s debut is a very enjoyable blend of classic/speed/thrash metal with a sinister vibe that is traditionally present on every Venom LP. There is a fine balance between aggression and groove, while Mantas and Abaddon are at the top of their game. The production is quite clean, which takes some of the edge off, but at the same time provides a needed modern flavor. Apart from the long runtime, which does not impact the enjoyment so much but will decrease the replay value of the album, Ave is a nice addition to the Venom catalog.

3.0 good | i aM ThE OnE WhO KnOcKs tRiCk oR TrEaT GiMmE CaNdAy | June 29th 23 | a watered down venomish album featuring crystal mrock/thrash that, like the cronosless albums of the main band, is simply not venom, though thankfully it leans much more towards the prime evil era than the absolute trash that were temples of ice and the wastelands. highlights in forged in hell and metal we bleed
