This is how you create an extraordinary synth-pop album. Art of Doubt is a record that blends rinsanely catchy melodies with gorgeous, lush sonic textures and colours it all with a dark, indie-rrock flair. One of 2018's most spectacular releases.

Somehow, this is now the quintessential Metric album, overtaking Fantasies as the band's crowning work. It's sharp, melodic, tender, energetic, atmospheric; all the best parts of Metric's sound swirling around each other to create something immense. Inject the riff from "Underline the Black" into my veins and put me to sleep with "No Lights on the Horizon", surely one of the most gorgeous album closers in recent memory.

Holy FUCK. How did I not listen to this Metric ralbum till now. It's far and away their best. rIt's all I could ever want from a Metric album. rEdit: Listening to music rn while rsimultaneously crying my eyes out about life. rCurrently relistening to this and something rjust clicked with my current emotional state. rGiving it a tentative 5.
