3.5 great | ShadowOfTheCitadel | November 16th 20 | Yeah, I really don't understand the hate towards this album here. It's one of the most
unique and against-type records in this weird shred/prog/axe-fx circle of music. It
doesn't have clean, polished breakdowns and and insistence on wank-shred 100% of the
time, and that's a good thing. It instead plays with different electronic samples and
throws in some nice jazzy stuff every now and then. Sarah's vocals are probably the one
reason why this thing is so listenable for me from a songwriting standpoint. They're
super unique in the genre and are infinitely better than someone like Yvette Young. Her
songwriting isn't the best, I'll agree to that. There's some songs on here where the
endings are either super abrupt and don't make sense or should've arrived a minute
sooner. The playing is great, any shred that does occur is 100% better than her other
albums - it's just a complete marked improvement from anything she's been a part of.

4.5 superb | Bro has djent in his pie | October 15th 22 | Huh this album just clicked for me today. Lovely soundscapes, and I mean lovely. Gorgeous lush chords, her way of writing ambient post rock stuff is really mesmerising. The vocals arent the best thing on a technical level, but she's able to make it work.

2.0 poor | Lichtmensch | June 18th 20 | Unfortunately the songwriting is as bad as the album cover.

3.0 good | zaruyache | December 21st 18 | Sarah's not the best writer, but people had wanted her to do a clean-vocal jazzy/tech guitar album for some time now and, as one of those people, I enjoy "Disparity." It's dreamy layered vocals and sweepy fiddly guitars with the occasional jazz bit and saxophone (synthed or real idk) which sometimes gives it a sort of World's End Girlfriend vibe. It's a fun little ditty.
