Excellent live album by KD. To a point, this one renders In Concert 1987: Abigail useless, as it contains Abigail in its entirety, plus 3 songs from Them, 2 from The Eye, and 1 from Conspiracy and Fatal Portrait, respectively. Of course, the two Mercyful Fate songs are an added bonus, as well. The band's performance is excellent, LaRocque's solos are impeccable and Kind Diamond, despite his age, is as solid as ever. We needed a properly recorded King Diamond live album, and Songs for the Dead Live does not disappoint.
