Guy is definitely talented and has a quirkiness/weirdness that is really appealing but the content is so meh. The cover and intro feel like he's got something to say (or ask) about the existence God's but it goes nowhere really...

This dude has the right idea and the talent to back it up but he can never quite seem to throw a project together that feels cohesive. This has a cool theme and some really great lyrical moments and a couple of blockbuster features but it never really reaches more than the sum of its parts. Dude has the potential to really make something special someday though

IDK delivers us again a very good album, again in the shadows of the spotlight, but still this guy has always been
well insured. The concept of Is He Real is very interesting, as is its unfolding, which alternates between
"energetic" and "calmer" tracks where we let ourselves be guided into the rapper's wacky world. His inspiration is
a mixture of what Kanye or Kendrick does, what we find in Atlanta but also this midwestern scene from Chicago. I
don't know if IDK will ever become a very great rapper, but in any case all his ideas and his realization are very
solid and particularly ingenious.

Last song really ties the project together and makes its larger theme make a little more sense. Despite the final song being profound, the project as a whole isn?t quite, although holding several great songs; mostly the louder and heavier.

The line about telling the teacher to suck his penis is pretty bad, but overall this is a quality hip hop project. The best songs are definitely the more aggressive ones, more mellow tracks like Lilly and the dancehall-ish December are really not the strong suit of this thing. When Is He Real is at its best is when IDK is going full J.I.D. with constantly changing flows and intricate rhymes on hard beats, like 24, Porno, or 42 Hundred Choices. Not the most unique thing out there but it's enjoyable overall and shows potential the same way IWASVERYBAD did.
