The first time I heard of Sea Wolf I was at a Silversun Pickups concert about a year ago. Sea Wolf opened up for them. They played a good show, better than Silversun Pickups, which was disappointing. I bought their EP and listened to it on the way back home from that concert. The lead singer's voice is decent but doesn't really change much throughout songs. That is probably the only the only downside.
I strongly recommend this CD for people who are into indie folk music. The instruments Sea Wolf uses mostly consist of acoustic guitar, drums, cello, violin and percussion. There are a couple other instruments used also but it doesn't make it a mess, it makes it just the opposite of that. This is very easy listening, short, mellow CD. The tracks that stood out the most to me were "You're A Wolf" (which was recently in a car commercial for the Olympics if I'm correct) and " I Don't Think If I'll Be Back This Time".
I would think that someone would put this on in the morning while they're working in their garden or just having a good day. The songs mostly revolve around the character trying to find his true love before he runs out of time. The only song on here that is semi depressing is the last song, even though I said before its one of the best ones. Its the only song where I understood what he was singing about. This is what he sings in the intro:"Every time I come back home, I get this feeling I'm alone. Yet all the streets still feel the same and all my friends still know my name". Obviously I guess he never found his true love. In the end getting this made me feel good after seeing that disappointing show for the SilverSun Pickups.
