?Being There? is an album that is to be savoured. It is an album of nuance and gentle ebbs and flows, drawing the listener in, as opposed to bluntly forcing the listener to take notice. Much of the album can turn into background music quite easily, and is quite fitting for it really - the smooth jazz of a lounge setting perhaps. However, because of this gentle nature, the songs of the album can tend to blend into one if you are not paying attention. The trio?s sound is not one of flamboyance, so patient and attentive listening is required, as anybody who invests the time to take all of the subtleties of this album in, will be greatly rewarded. The playing of the trio is supremely elegant and tasteful, and as a result, ?Being There? is one of the most beautiful jazz albums that you will hear.r
