4.0 excellent | zaruyache | December 9th 20 | Canadian folk black metal of the american vein which combines pounding black metal riffs
and spaghetti western folk music to tell tales about Mexican heroes. While being a short
EP at only ~16 minutes long across four tracks there isn't much room to fully flesh out
the folk and black metal sections, respectively, a la Alda, but it does definitely
provide a nice example of a band using their ~4 min runtimes well, and makes me
exceptionally hopeful for a full-length from them in the future.
If you were looking for more cowboy black metal, this should be next on your
list.

4.0 excellent | Gene Gol-Jonsson CONTRIBUTOR | October 10th 20 | This EP is a mixed bag. In just four songs you have a set of rather generic black metal tropes, but the band keeps throwing you a curveball, changing up the dynamic of a song, adding a guitar solo or an atmospheric moment, keeping things fresh. But upon revision you may find yourself just skipping ahead to those memorable parts, rather than sitting through the sour repetition. I am inclined to a positive grade on this, but it is still a mixed bag. Certainly looking forward to the band expanding the interesting experimental moments in the future and releasing a really friggin' great record.
