One of Zorn's better records, and it's certainly one of his most fun. Lots of genres are covered, and songs often stylistically switch at the drop of a hat (this is quite reminiscent of Naked City). The short songs are fun but don't really develop, the 11-minute "Dreams of the Red Chamber" grinds the record to a halt for a while, and there is just so much here (the record is over 78 minutes long). As aforementioned, it's a ton of fun, though, and overall it's among the Zorn discography's upper echelon.
