The more Malady distance themselves from the norms of progressive rock, the closer they get to the genre's core, and this album continues what its predecessor started. The overall mood of the album is dark, yet not menacing, while the arrangements go from non-trivial funeral doom rock to jazz, the way its detractors would come to appreciate the genre.
