It does exactly what it says on the tin. It's a
very enjoyable listen but maybe it's missing
what I would usually point to as being
decidedly Hamasyan's work. Those elements of
Armenian folk and fusion aren't present as much
here, or more subtly implied. Usually, these
are found more overt and so it certainly is an
album I really like but maybe not Hamasyan's
usual fashion.

Tigran's newest is a more straightforward modern jazz record, at least compared to that last Frankensteinian album of his. Expect plenty intriguing harmonic shifts, melodic chaos, as well as overall smoothness unrivalled by many today. That said, it's also an album most like anything but Tigran. Put any name on it and I'd believe them the author.

The experimental jazz and prog artists comes back with another new album, and this one is a straightforward post-bop album. Classic in nature, but uninspired when really listening to it. It?s weird because I actually enjoy listening to it when I have it on in the background, but it pales in comparison to all the great post-bop works of the late 50s and all of the 60s.
