Probably about a 4.2 but am 4.5'ing this because it's absolutely criminally unknown. It's a
really unique little gem of an album, hard to categorise but kind of early 2000s
progressive/indie rock meshing together a bit of XTC, Radiohead, Massive Attack but
completely with its own sound.

This was the band Bruce Soord was in before he formed The Pineapple Thief, but
he wasn't actually the primary songwriter. Props for this goes to Neil Randall who is
clearly a powerful voice in his own right (his more recent band Niederrad 16 is
worthwhile) and the two of them are a perfectly matched combo. It's such a shame they
stopped working together - arguably I'd say this is stronger as a whole than most of The
Pineapple Thief's releases apart from Little Man, Someone Here Is Missing, What We Have
Sown...

Looks like this is completely out of print as well apart from on YouTube. Would love to see
them remaster and re-release it (and their other albums) so it finds a new audience. Best
tracks on here are This Is Where It All Began, Powder, Groom, Hardpack, I Saw The Messenger
Of The New God There and Secret Spot.
Really recommended.
