2.5 average | Deadwing2112 | February 1st 20 | In reality, Nobody's Daughter is a Courtney Love solo effort branded Hole to garner larger public interest. Skinny Little Bitch temporarily revives the grrrrrl punk rock from the debut Teenage Whore however the album cannot maintain its energy. Letter to God (noteworthy song writing credit to the incredible Linda Perry) is a 5 star track trapped on a 2.5 rated record and extra props to Kellii Scott (Failure) for working the drum kit. For those curious, check out Love's live performance of Letter to God on Youtube.

0.0 | Jau Peacecraft | November 20th 13 | This is both the solo album Love was always meant to make (after her last awful attempt w/ "America's Sweetheart" & several over the years mis-starts), & also one of the best albums Hole could've ever made, if more members had been involved.
Despite this failing, I actually prefer the material over Celebrity Skin, which had the sad task of following up the Hole perfection of "Live Through This:.
Purists will bitch, but Courtney Love's insistence on doing more pop & acoustic after Hole's first album (if not right after Live Through This) has always been the right way for the band, otherwise, they might've burnt out into obscurity rather than fade.
I'll leave the argument of which is preferable for an actual review, one day.
I hope she tries to reform Hole in totality next time around, however. Her first solo effort was awful, & if only one other original member can help yield something like this, I can't imagine how great another Hole album could be with the other's input.
The title track also remains on of the best songs they've made, btw.

2.5 average | mvdu | April 25th 10 | A mixed bag. Courtney's voice has definitely faded. But she can still bring it on songs like "Nobody's Daughter," "Skinny Little Bitch," and "Loser Dust." My problem is that the songs in the middle seem like weaker versions of Celebrity Skin. Not bad, but they don't stand out. Then, "How Dirty Girls Get Clean" is a pale imitation of "Loser Dust." The last song, "Never Go Hungry," is Courtney doing a country sound - it just doesn't fit her.
