5.0 classic | Gary STAFF | October 26th 23 | Flawless record: bombastic riffs surrounded by an epic, vitalizing and uplifting atmosphere. The grittier and "opalesque" production is not an issue here, since it perfectly serves its purpose: it's a black/viking metal after all. Hell, I daresay: this is on the same level with the best Bathory releases! This records makes me feel strong, triumphant - while it also evokes sometimes the "dark" essence of albums like Under the Sign of the Black Mark, but sometimes (mostly due to the clean vocals and choruses) it bears quite folk/post-black marks too - it's hard to describe. All in all: this is a shiny forgotten gem.
