0.0 | xfearbefore | November 13th 10 | Originally intended to be the first new Roxy Music album since 1983's Avalon, Bryan Ferry's first solo record of new material in several years is also one of his finest since the breakdown of Roxy Music. Some numbers are classic mid-70s Roxy Music, the kind of crazed art-pop-funk that Ferry would routinely serve up after the departure of Eno from the group. While harkening back to the past, it all sounds entirely fresh and new thanks to excellent production and Ferry's willingness to experiment with everything from disco to classic rock and back. Notable guest contributors on the album include Brian Eno, Phil Manzanera ,and Andy Mackay of Roxy Music fame, David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), the Scissor Sisters, David A. Stewart (Eurythmics), Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and many others.
