Steel is a decent debut album from power metal band Battle Beast. It isn't particularly ground breaking but it is very enjoyable. It feels like a cross musically between classic Judas Priest and strangely Lordi. For me it is the inclusion and use of keyboards combined with similar male vocals/backing/gang vocals, plus the pounding stomp of the guitar riff. The main female vocals are very powerful but don't go over the top like some do in the power metal genre, another plus. Most of the songs have killer guitar solos that are air guitar worthy. Lyric wise it is cheesy and fun: Enter the Metal World, Justice and Metal, and Steel give you an idea what you are getting from song titles alone. Overall a solid but not ground-breaking album. Songs to check out: Cyberspace, Enter the Metal World, and Iron Hand.
