4.5 superb | crazycobs | June 8th 11 | A solid album. Ander vocals seemed to have improved a great deal and the production is very good!

4.5 superb | simonpettersen | June 7th 11 | Never thought it would be this good to be fair. The vocals are excelent, maybe a bit more screaming wouldn't hurt anyone, but I'm not bitching. The guitars are really smooth this time arround, probably what I like most about this record. The drumming however... Meh, it's tight like hell, but could have been better. HAHA; and we can actually hear the bass for a change, that's cool. Production is flawless, only thing I really can complain about is that sometimes the songs seem to get a bit boring and re-cycling them selves, specially the riffs... but besides that superb!

3.0 good | BassDemon333 | June 7th 11 | While In Flames have redeemed themselves after their poor 2008 effort A Sense of Purpose, the
absence of Jesper Stromblad is clearly evident in their songwriting on Sounds Of A Playground Fading.
Anders' reduced screams and growls also hold this album back from reaching the heights that Come
Clarity and Reroute To Remain did.

0.0 | FilthyBorgir | June 7th 11 | Definitely an improvement from ASOP. The vocals are better, melodies are decent and some pretty good solos here and there, songs that almost bring back their old days (such as Enter Tragedy, and A New Dawn), acoustics that remind me of their old days are present too. The only song I would claim to be not so great, is the ballad Liberation. But if your an old IF fan, don't worry there are songs you'll enjoy too.
