Review Summary: B-Sides, Remixes and Boring
Let's just put it out there this Ep is boring and is a waste of your time.
Recorrupted begins with the only original song on the Ep, Section 8. While the idea of new material may sound appealing to some, Section 8 simply jumps on "Djent" band wagon, remains extremely generic through out and incorporates the typical low tuned Deathcore breakdown. Even the Pantera cover "Strength Beyond Strength" sounds extremely uninspired and boring. There were times during the song I had trouble telling that it was a Pantera Cover and not just another Whitechapel song.
Now if you have had any experience with remixes of Metalcore/Deathcore bands you know that they tend to be pretty terrible and the remixes on this Ep are no exception. The first remix is done by Big chocolate which sounds like a boring and overall worse version of Commissioner. However Ben Weinman's remix of "This Is Exile" sounds like soundtrack music that would have been used in a game like Quake. Not to say that the remix is bad, it's just very forgettable. The standout track of this Ep (if you want to call it that) is an acoustic reworking of End of Flesh which Whitechapel managed to turn into a very haunting and tranquil track. However with that being said the song seems very out of place considering that Whitechapel is a Deathcore band.
Overall this release is just background noise and extremely boring background noise at that.
