3.0 good | SuzyC | September 6th 18 | Side 1: [zzzzz....] / Side 2: 'Windows", "Borderline" and "Play On" are concise, if uncharacteristic, rockers, and "Crossfire" is almost worth the price of admission by itself.

3.0 good | Robbit | September 1st 16 | VINYL CONFESSIONS is a transitional Kansas album with John Elefante replacing Steve Walsh on vocals for this and the following record, DRASTIC MEASURES. This change was initially a promising one with "Play The Game Tonight" being one of the strongest Kansas singles in several years. The rest of the album is palatable, but not much better than the tepid AUDIO-VISIONS album. "Chasing Shadows", "Windows" and "Crossfire" are probably the most memorable tunes, but these aren't quite on the level of their prior classics. Kerry Livgren's lyrics chronicle much of the spiritual tug-of-war that was going on in the band during this era, ultimately leading to his own departure.

3.0 good | Reverse Perpendiculars | July 7th 11 | With the new recruitment of John Elefante, many of the band members had claimed to have dreams and nightmares of God calling to them to become Christian believers. The band soon erupted, with a few members converting to Christianity. Regardless of the influence, the first four songs "Play the Game Tonight", "Right Away," "Fair Exchange," and "Chasing Shadows" are all solid numbers for Kansas.
