firebomb your consciousness, they'll ignite it fromwithin, imprinting the deepestrecesses of your brain with their searingguitars
and relentless rhythms.
Perhaps the most captivating thing about At the Drive-In was the immense energy they put into their live shows. Wether
itbeguitaristOmarRodriguez-lopez's uncanny salsa dancing around the stage or frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala's crowd-
tauntingantics, theemotion At theDrive-In put into their liveshow was one of many things that made them stick out of the
crowd.
The furious and emotional tracks "Pattern Against User" and "One Armed Scissor" offer a taste of the pure sonic power of
AttheDrive-In'sfinalfull-length album, Relationship of Command. The record is anarresting sonic attack, highlighted by
vocalistCedricBixler'sconfrontational, rhythmic, rapid-fire delivery. The band split in 2001, shortly after the sucess of
Relationship of Command.Afteralmost 11years, and 3 full ofspeculation, At the Drive-In officially announced their return in
January 2012. However, OmarRodriguez has saidthatthere are not, at least atthe moment, plans for any new material, and that
the reunions are purely out ofnostalgia. Nevertheless, in2016,the band announced theirreturn in full form, with new material in
the works. « hide |
