This made them very popular in the U.K. and gave them some recognition in the United States. Their second album, "High 'N' Dry" brought success in America and they were on their way to stardom. During the recording of their third album, "Pyromania", Pete Willis left the band and they replaced him with Phil Collen. "Pyromania" became a huge success, and made them popular throughout the world. In 1985, Rick Allen lost his left arm in a car accident. They tried to reatatch his arm, but it had to be removed again after it became infected. But Allen didn't quit drums, he then started playing an electric drum set, which allowed him to play using his foot to replace his arm. In 1987, the band came out with the album, "Hysteria". The album was very successful, with many hits. After "Hysteria", Steve Clark died of an overdose of drugs and alcohol. They replaced Clark with Vivian Cambell. They released a few more CD's in the 90's, but none that achieved the same popularity as "Hysteria" or "Pyromania". To this date, Def Leppard still tours, and have put on concerts and even released a new covers album just recently.Their latest album is called Songs From the Sparkle Lounge. « hide
