Denki Groove are a successful electronica band from Japan. The group formed in 1989, immediately after the split of the cult avant-garde electropop group, Zin-Say, which core members Takkyu Ishino and Pierre Taki were members of. The group initially followed a unique blend of quirky electro and high-paced hip hop, but, by 1994, the group started to cover various electronic grounds, which would give them a fair amount of critical acclaim. Today, Denki Groove are considered to be true breakthrough artists of the Japanese electronic scene, and remain to be household names in Japanese music. Outside of Japan, Denki Groove also enjoy a good-sized fanbase in Germany, often appearing at the Mayday Festival, which is often said to be one of the premium electronic music festivals in the world.
