Ensemble InterContemporain was formed by Pierre Boulez with the intent of shedding light upon modern, experimental styles of classical
music.They are renowned for their extreme technical prowess, reveling in the complexity of works by composers like Schoenberg, Webern,
Berg,Ligeti, Scelsi and Xenakis. Additionally, the ensemble performs works by lesser-known, contemporary composers, even setting up
programs tohelp teach and develop the talents of aspiring artists everywhere.
**Founder and conductor Pierre Boulez passed away on the 5th of January, 2016 at the age of 90. May he rest in peace.**
