Esbjörn Svensson Trio (often abbreviated to E.S.T or e.s.t.) were a Swedish jazz piano trio, formed in 1993, with Esbjörn
Svensson playing piano, Dan Berglund on double bass and Magnus Öström on drums. E.S.T. became somewhat popular within
the mainstream, combining classical jazz roots with a bouncing, vibrant style that allowed them to bridge various audiances,
young and old. The trio released eight full length albums, one compilation, and two live discs.
Tragically, Esbjörn Svensson died in a scuba diving accident, June 14th, 2008. Survived by his wife and children, and
remembered for the beautiful music he left us with. The band is no longer active.
