The project was started in 1979 by Paul Chain but in a few weeks it became dormant due to the intense activity of Death SS.In1984 Paul decided to focus on his solo project, so Death SS split up.After shortening the name to Paul Chain in 1987, PaoloCatena started to experiment with other forms of music.50 different musicians worked together with Paul Chain during thisproject.Paul Chain uses an entirely phonetic language for vocals and which may or may not resemble real speech. This meansthe bandhas no lyrics.
