Although Snow Patrol have in fact been around since 1994, it's fair to say that it was the release of 2003's Final Straw that saw the band gaining the level of popularity that they have today. Even then, it took a while for the songs on that album to take over UK radio, but when they did, it was hard to believe that they had ever been away. Taking cues from some of the biggest soft rock bands in the world, Snow Patrol are undoubtedly not everyone's favourite band. However, given the success of May 2006's Eyes Open, it seems as if they have finally hit on a winning formula for their continued success, and one that they seem determined to carry on using.
