Below the Sea is a post rock band from Canada formed in 1999. Originally, the band consisted of Patrick Lacharité, Pascal Asselin, and Mathieu Lévesque.
In 2000, they got signed to Where Are My Records and released their debut album "The Loss of Our Winter" leading to an increase in fame and attention in Europe. In 2003, their second album, "Les arbres dépayseront davantage", was released. Two EPs, titled Alonelinesses and Endings, respectively, followed before they released their third (and most recent) album "Blame It on the Past " which features new bassist Victor Meyer. A year later, they released another EP called "Sceneries".
In addition, Below the Sea has released a tour split EP together with fellow post-rock band Miaou in 2005.
