Bow Wow Wow were formed by Malcolm McLaren in 1980 after he persuaded the rhythm section of Adam & the Ants to form a new group,
fronted by Anabella Lwin. Taking David Barbarossa's Burundi-influenced drumbeats as their trademark, they went onto have a relatively short
career of creating tribal-influenced new wave/pop, and in the process releasing their now-famous (with a little help from MTV) cover of The
Strangeloves' single, "I Want Candy". Bow Wow Wow originally split in 1983, but are known to sporadically have reunion shows.
