In the late 1980s Boyd Rice of NON met Douglas Pearce of Death In June on tour in Japan. Rice was soon invited by Pearce to assist on his Wall Of Sacrifice (1989) LP, to which Rice contributed a spoken word piece. This was to mark a long period of collaborations between the two from the early 1990s until 2004, leading to side projects such as Scorpion Wind and 2 studio albums bearing the Boyd Rice and Death In June moniker.
