Juicy Fruits are a Japanese pop rock/new wave band that formed in 1978. The group proved to be a minor hit in the
mainstream, and their bubbly, sometimes quirky, sound was a unique twist on the often experimental-esqued Japanese synthpop
style, which housed the likes of Yellow Magic Orchestra, P-Model, Plastics and Sheena & the Rokkets (the latter two of which
Juicy Fruits are often compared to). The group split in 1984, after only six years of activity, and frontwoman Atsuko Okuno
went on to a short-lived solo career. After almost two decades of silence, Juicy Fruits reunited in 2011, and have been touring
ever since to their dedicated cult following.
