Marcus Vinicius Andrade e Silva (São Paulo, March 1, 1976), better known by the stage name Kamau. Kamau is a rapper,
songwriter, beatmaker and Brazilian skateboarder. He began his career in 1997 and is seen as a reference for many of the MCs
featured in the current scene and also admired by veterans.
The name Kamau came from a book of African names that DJ KL Jay (Racionais MCs) had at home. Means "Silent Warrior" on
Swahilli dialect, and Kamau immediately identified himself and thought it had to do with his way of acting and being. But it's a

He has shared the stage and recorded with several generations of Brazilian rap and worldwide. His first solo song,
"Numtointendendu", part of the EP's first group he was a member, "Consequência" (Prólogo, 2002). Since then, the Brazilian
rapper trailed with critically acclaimed album, fans with snippets of their songs tattooed, participation in program Yo! MTV with
an unforgettable interview with rapper Sabotage, indications on MTV VMB (Brazilian's version of VMA) four music videos released
in less than three years and recognition from fans and other artists worldwide.
