The Kenos project starts in 1996 from an idea by bassist Marcello Fachin and guitar player Domenico Conte as a death-prog metal band which would blend the impact of death-metal with the refined atmospheres of progressive influences.Its original name was “Underwise”, and it is in 2001 that band’s name turns into “Kenos”.The skills of new musicians which join the band allow the combo to start songwriting own material and begin intensive live activity, soon supported by a strong fanbase. The Kenos project starts in 1996 from an idea by bassist Marcello Fachin and guitar player Domenico Conte as a death-prog metal band which would blend the impact of death-metal with the refined atmospheres of progressive influences.Its original name was “Underwise”, and it is in 2001 that band’s name turns into “Kenos”.The skills of new musicians which join the band allow the combo to start songwriting own material and begin intensive live activity, soon supported by a strong fanbase. By then Kenos’ sound was hard to define: strong Florida-style riffing with keyboards and female vocals backed by heavy drumming.With this new line-up, in 2002 Kenos realise their first album, a 40-minutes cd titled “Rigor Mortis” which sells out its first pressing of 1000 copies in a handful of days.Upon such good response, in 2002 the band fires up fresh energies to start a new season of live shows and intense songwriting. In this same period some line-up changes occur taking the band to it current status.In a very short time the band writes about 50 minutes of brand new music: fast and technical death metal, open to many and diverse contaminations, from classical to ethnical and electronic music.In late 2002 the band teams up with a young producer, Giuseppe Morazzoni, and in January 2003 they produce their new work titled “Intersection”. The songs are recorded in four months of hard work using state-of-the-art technique. In the meanwhile Kenos keep up their live activity by opening in live shows for acclaimed bands like The Crown, Entombed, Novembre, Labyrinth, Mortuary Drape, Incantation, Dismember, Ephel Duath and many others. . « hide |
