Kjøtt (Meat in English) was a punk band from Oslo, Norway. The lineup consisted of singer Helge Gaarder, drummer Michael Krohn, guitarists Erik
Aasheim and Jøran Rudi and bass guitarist Per Tro. They were active from 1979 to 1981 and released one of the most classic norwegian punk seven
inches “Ett nytt og bedre liv” in February 1980. Right after they followed up with one just as classic 12” EP. The band went on to tour Poland in 1981
together with The Aller Værste! and De Press. Then the band turned more experimental and released one more 7” and the full-length album “Op. “. A
compilation album called “1979-1981” was released in 1989. Michael Krohn started Raga Rockers when Kjøtt broke up. Helge Gaarder died in 2004.
