Lead Pipe Logic was a Simi Valley, CA, based rock band formed in 2006 comprised of Chris Baker on vocals, David Baldwin on guitar, Tas Szemeredi on bass, and Mike Rene who had joined the band in 2008 in place of original drummer Steve Linn. From their myspace page, 2007: About LEAD PIPE LOGIC When Lead Pipe Logic started in a Simi Valley garage in late 2006 the chemistry was immediate, but it was not until they began to write together that they knew that this was not “just another band.” With songs that speak of pain and joy, self-destruction and healing, depression and rage, Lead Pipe Logic has become therapy for, not only its members, but its listeners as well. In an industry saturated with bands in search of the next gimmick to grab people's attention, Lead Pipe Logic adheres to a simple formula; Write good songs that people want to hear and perform them well. It is a formula that has garnered them both national and international attention in a relatively short period of time. Within their first year they have been featured on numerous radio stations, podcasts, and magazines."The thing that sets us apart from other bands is the emotional connection we have with the listener. I think they are tired of being underestimated. They are in search of something authentic and they have found that in our music." Says Vocalist Chris Baker. With the release of their debut single, "I'll Withstand" in August 2007 and their 5-song EP in September, the band's popularity has begun to climb. In a live interview and performance on Forbidden Radio, host Christine Dolce said this of the band, "I did not want the songs to end. It was amazing. I'm speechless. They are very special in my book."Lead Pipe Logic is a band that is driven to be the best. It is that drive that has not only grabbed the attention of the industry, but kept it. After holding the number 1 most requested song spot for three weeks in a row on MainStageLive.Com, founder Scott Furious wrote, "Lead Pipe Logic is easily one of the top 10 unsigned bands in the nation. Their song, "I'll Withstand" is sure to hit the top of the charts and make some label very happy." With new fans, club owners, promoters, and media attention being added to the list every day, this is a band with a very bright future ahead of them. From their myspace page, 2009: When the members of Lead Pipe Logic met for the first time in a small Simi Valley garage the chemistry was immediate. When they began to write together they knew they were creating something amazing. But it was not until they took the stage for the first time that it became evident that they would take over the world. With nearly 40 shows, including radio appearances, internet broadcasts, as well as out of state and local live performances, all within their first year, LPL has set the standard for work ethic among unsigned bands. The first single, “I’ll Withstand,” off of their 2007 self-titled EP sat securely in the top ten most requested songs of numerous radio stations and remained there for months after its release. The band has been featured on national FM radio shows such as Frosty, Heidi, and Frank as well as high-profile internet broadcasts like Forbidden Radio with Christine Dolce. The band’s recent release of their second recorded effort, “The Fallen,” showcases, not only their musical and song-writing skill, but their ability to seamlessly blend four very diverse musical backgrounds into a cohesive, emotional, and dynamic sound. Simply put; LPL walks the fine line between intense aggression and quiet passion with a skilled hand. While surrounded by bands in search of gimicks and trends, Lead Pipe Logic remains passionately committed to the music. It is this commitment that has turned the heads of some of the industry’s greatest talents and endeared them to their legion of loyal fans. « hide |
