Reaching out for more than just the traditional folk sound-palette, the duo looked to add some texture to the songs. Thus, John Slater joined the band as lead guitarist. The band recorded five tracks at Fry Pharmacy Studios in Nashville in July 2007 with the aid of Scott McEwen and Phil Hummer. They recently finished up recording six tracks at Spotlight Studios in Nashville to complete their debut album, In Pieces, which has been released through digital musical retailers as well as being available in physical form. The album is a mixture of styles, from the Hüsker Dü-inspired “I Don’t Remember,” to the mid-sixties Dylan folk-rock of “Somewhere Between,” to the outright alterna-pop of the band’s cover of “Then I Kissed Her.” « hide
