To those paying attention to the movement of high-energy drum & bass which has taken the scene by storm, the name MC Coppa isn’t just familiar – it’s ubiquitous. Marvin Hay aka Coppa has turned a corner in his ongoing assault on global dance floors, his journey through drum & bass music stretches back over 10 years. Immediately recognized for his skills as a versatile master of ceremonies and canny lyricist, Coppa's talents have brought him to over 34 countries worldwide, as far as Malaysia, Singapore, Siberia, Russia, Finland and Dubai. It’s his sharp lyricism and iconic vocal tenor that’s seen Coppa become one of drum & bass’s most sought-after MC's, dispensing his own brand of dance floor hype at the many venues and some of the biggest festivals in Europe and beyond, having headlined regularly alongside a who´s who of international drum and bass & electronic music. Outside drum & bass, Coppa's list of achievements on stage include such highlights as performing in front of 10,000 hip hop fans in Kuala Lumpa opening a concert for Missy Elliot, to touring China in 2003 with DJ Roobles of Kitachi, performing live on European Music Day in Athens Greece with Freestyle Rec's Quasamodo & The Q-Orchestra 8 piece band, to hosting sets for electronic music titans Kruder & Dorfmeister, Felix Da House Cat, Meat Katie, Tiefschwarz, Stereotyp. One thing is crystal clear. Coppa's home is certified on the stage. Whilst known for his live performance reputation and talent, Coppa has been equally prolific in the studio collaborating with the likes of Mindscape, Telekinesis, Forbidden Society, Prolix, Teddy Killerz, Maztek, Mob Tactics, Shimon & Tantrum Desire, the results being a seemingly endless slew of high profile releases on labels such as Viper Recordings, Playaz, Commercial Suicide, Eatbrain, Blackout, Renegade Hardware, ProgRam, Trendkill Recs, Technique Recordings and more. And now with his own label Comanche Records and an impressive line up of collaborators & producers to work with, his debut LP, An Act of Aggression, already released and a formidable live show, COPPA LIVE, the next 12 months are set to be some of biggest of his career to date. In the current climate of overbearing MC overload, Coppa is still an artist trusted and frequently used by the professionals on the international circuit to present and hold down the microphone duties for some of the biggest names in the scene at this time « hide
