Maria Kannon is a cult avant-garde/psychedelic rock band from Japan. Formed in 1987 by former yakuza Tosuke Kowata, it has
gradually grown into more of a solo project of Kowata, since he is the only original member of the band and since the band has
adopted pretty much a revolving-door lineup. Maria Kannon is known not only for their own signature style, but also for their
passionate live shows.
