Guitarist, singer, and chief songwriter for The Who (but you already knew that!). Pete's solo career was a bit eclectic, beginning in the early
1970s with tribute albums written (with friends) for his spiritual guru, Meher Baba. His mid-1970s collaboration album with Ronnie Lane,
Rough Mix was the first regular semi solo studio album of his career. Pete finally stepped out with his first regular solo album in 1980,
Empty Glass, which was perhaps his biggest smash hit. Many of his solo albums have been collections of home demos (e.g. Who Came
First, the Scoop series and the Lifehouse Chronicles). In 1999, Pete and his surviving Who bandmates reformed for regular
touring, and a mid 2000s studio album, thus putting his solo career on hold.
