Qypthone are known for their superfast, very danceable Acid-Jazz-Bossanova-Japanese-Lounge-Pop-Happy-Weird-Sound, whose tasteful references to the ’60s and ’70s are spiced up with computer game elements.

Qypthone isn’t only a synonym for sunny mood, but also a spacy interest in science: The band’s name is a Japanese word play on the name “Kip Thorne”, a contemporary scientist who is occupied with constructing a time machine. Qypthone is being pronounced “Kip-thone”.
Luc Besson chose a track made of computer game sound samples by Qypthone for his movie “Wasabi”.
