Rats & Star was a short lived Japanese pop/rock band that was active from 1983 until 1985. The band was previously known as
the doo wop-influenced Chanels, before changing their name (and virtually their entire sound) to Rats & Star in 1983. Although
they had a short-lived run, both Chanels and Rats & Star are considered to be incredibly influential in the Japanese music scene,
more specifically in the R&B circuit, in which they influenced acts like Da Bubblegum Brothers, The Gospellers and Skoop On
Somebody.
