Rock City Angels are a punk-influenced glam rock band in the style of the New York Dolls and Hanoi Rocks. They were seemingly destined for stardom in the late '80s when Geffen Records bought their contract out for $6 million and sent the band to Nashville to record their debut album, however it was labelmates Guns N Roses who went on to achieve mega-stardom as Rock City Angels faded and were eventually dropped in 1992.
The band counts a young Johnny Depp among its former members. He played guitar for the band before landing a part on 21 Jump Street.
