The Display Team - A beast with 24 limbs, and 6 brains fused into a sympathetic matrix of heady harmonies, ballistic brass, romping-stomping riffs and more "wonk" than a bad hedge. That isn't to say that they haven't borrowed from the best, oh no. The Display Team have inherited many valuable musical heirlooms from Cardiacs, The Beach Boys, Mr. Bungle, Frank Zappa, Queen, XTC and The Mad Caddies, all culminating in a rather fetching lot, set to sell for a high sum to the most daring of bidders. This assemblage of styles, and microscopic, cumulative influences has been described by some as "pronk".

This legion is often present at live shows, which fizz and froth with all of the zeal and invigoration which goes into the writing of their music.
The zenith of their achievements thus far is the album Drones, a boisterous yet clever, powerful yet subtle compendium of their compositional efforts to date. It is out now on Genin Records, so get your boots ready, or your finger in a clicking position. Come one, come all, as there will most likely be something for everyone.
It's available to buy as a physical disc from the Genin website for £9.99.
You can get it from iTunes for $9.99 (or 99¢ per song).
CDBaby also stock it at a price of $12.97, or $9.99 as a download.
Any way you look at it, it's a goddamn bargain, and if you don't snap it up, fearful villagers will swarm around your castle with torches and pitchforks and burn you as a heretic. Possibly. « hide |
