The Federation was a West Coast hip hop trio that formed originally in 1999. It was formed by member Rick Rock immediately after the disbandment of his previous group, Cosmic Slop Shop. They had their first breakthrough in 2004 with the single "Hyphy", which was recorded with fellow West Coast artist E-40. The Federation ended up splitting in 2009.
