The Gymslips were an underground all-female band from London. First formed in 1981, the group were originally a relatively
straightforward punk band, before branching out and becoming a gothic-tinged post-punk band in 1985. The change in sound
didn’t exactly go over that well, and The Gymslips then disbanded by the end of 1985.
