The Shamen was an electronic group that first formed in 1986. Formed by previous members of the moderately successful underground band Alone Again Or, it eventually became a project of frontman Colin Angus, who, by 1989, was the only original founding member left. The single also had some success overseas as well, as it reached number 38 on the American Billboard charts. With the release of their 1992 "Boss Drum" album, The Shamen suddenly became superstars, as the album went three-times platinum in the UK. Also around this period, the group released its most popular single yet, "Ebeneezer Goode", which stayed at the top of the charts for four weeks. Commercial appeal became dry by the mid 1990's, however, and The Shamen then officially disbanded in 1999. « hide
