The Steels were formed by brothers Cole (Rhythm Guitar) and Max Matthews (Lead Vocals), Ben McGreggor (Bass Guitar 1984-1988, Guitar, 1988-) and Blaine Roosevelt (Drums), The band saw success from 1984-1987, when on January 1st 1987, lead singer Max Matthews was found dead at his house, drowned in his pool. The band wanted to disband but Cole told them to stay strong. After getting Ralph Nepomechie (Lead Guitar) and Luke Flynn (Bass guitar, keyboards), the band got much more success with the album Let It Fly. After disbanding in 1992 then reformed little after 4 months then disbanding again in 2000, The Steels are hoping for a comeback.
