Believer fans should always expect the band to constantly push ahead and deliver something challenging. This is, after all, the band that mixed technical thrash with violins and an opera singer on their 1993 release, Dimensions. They’re also the ones that came back after sixteen years of silence and immediately pushed their sound in a new quirky prog direction on Gabriel without abandoning their thrash roots. If “G.U.T.” is any indication of what Believer’s upcoming album, Transhuman, is going to sound like, though, it appears that their most challenging album is still ahead.

Believer – Transhuman — Released on April 12

Youtube is blocked at work, so I had to do this on my iPhone. Let me know if there are any issues.

Also, song is definitely going to require some time to sink in. I listened to it about seven times in a row while making this and it's pretty cool. It's definitely layered, and the vocals are finally changed up a bit from the older stuff.

Willie posting blogs at work, I like it.

The only place I do anything for this place is at work (except when I have to use Photoshop). So, how about the song Crysis?

Trey has the best job ever.

Song was metal, so was at its best when there were no vocals... Although I did like the (what I presume were) keys that floated in every now & then.

The vocals are killing me man. I like the backing vocals, but the main is a spicy meatball...

yeah it sounds like the vocals got slightly higher

Cool, Davey checked out a metal song. Thanks! Yeah, those are keys in the background. It's a very different song for them.

Yeah, the vocals have always been the make-or-break point for this band. I don't have a problem with them, but it took a little bit of time to get to that point. When I read that they were going to experiment with the vocals I was kind of hoping that they would move to something else entirely just so it would be easier to get other people into.

"So, how about the song Crysis?"

Riffs were awesome. Not so sure about the vocals, would take a while to get used to them. Other than that I liked the song.

cool song tbh

The vocals are cool. They're kind of like an Athiest/Voivod hybrid kind of thing.

This is definitely a strange new song. Looking forward to decoding this album for a couple of weeks.

the song is decent.

I expect more from Believer, though.

"Gabriel" was immense.

Don't judge yet. First, the song is pretty cool and different for them. Second, I doubt they'd post 'just another technical thrash' song to show off the album, but I'm sure there's probably a bit of that too. One of my most anticipated albums.

Two bands of which I'm not a fan of the vocals ;)

Man, I just listened to "Gabriel" the other day so this is really throwing me for a loop. I like it though!

Instrumental side is really cool, but as with Gabriel, the vocals are iffy. They didn't reach a point here where they bothered me, but I know they probably will when I listen to the album in full
:(.

Yeah, I never liked his sort-of-screams. The cleans were good though.

That was really good. Looking forward to another awesome Believer record.

For fans of the band it is worth checking out. For those just getting into them, it almost feels like they should wait for the whole album are start with something older.
