Believer fans should always expect the band to constantly push ahead and deliver something challenging. This is, after all, the band that mixed technical thrash with violins and an opera singer on their 1993 release, Dimensions. They’re also the ones that came back after sixteen years of silence and immediately pushed their sound in a new quirky prog direction on Gabriel without abandoning their thrash roots. If “G.U.T.” is any indication of what Believer’s upcoming album, Transhuman, is going to sound like, though, it appears that their most challenging album is still ahead.

Also, song is definitely going to require some time to sink in. I listened to it about seven times in a row while making this and it's pretty cool. It's definitely layered, and the vocals are finally changed up a bit from the older stuff.

Song was metal, so was at its best when there were no vocals... Although I did like the (what I presume were) keys that floated in every now & then.

Yeah, the vocals have always been the make-or-break point for this band. I don't have a problem with them, but it took a little bit of time to get to that point. When I read that they were going to experiment with the vocals I was kind of hoping that they would move to something else entirely just so it would be easier to get other people into.

Riffs were awesome. Not so sure about the vocals, would take a while to get used to them. Other than that I liked the song.

I expect more from Believer, though.
"Gabriel" was immense.
